Another snippet to my new NaNo project. This one is in the POV of my male character. Enjoy!
“Hey, I’m sorry I came on so strongly.” Jax held out a hand to her. “I didn’t mean to scare you. Can we start again?”
He waited as she stared suspiciously at his hand, eyes narrowing, until she raised hers and clasped it briefly. Relaxing, he grinned.
“Hi, my name is Jax.”
Her creeks creased in a miniscule smile. “Destry.”
Even her name was beautiful. And mysterious. Her appeal intensified. Jax felt himself drawn closer, his body an unwilling participant to her seeming magnetic pull. He forcibly held his body still, planting his feet in the dewy grass.
“I’m very happy to meet you.”
